Music has always been a major part of the Grand Theft Auto experience, and GTA 6 looks ready to take that tradition further. Rockstar has revealed six radio stations, on-demand podcasts, a new dynamic original score, and a separate album featuring 34 original tracks. For returning players looking to buy GTA 6 Account access for their existing GTA Online characters, there is also a new musical world to look forward to when exploring Leonida.
Six Confirmed GTA 6 Radio Stations
Rockstar has revealed six stations so far, covering different musical styles and giving Vice City and the surrounding areas their own sound.
Cocoteo FM focuses on modern Latin music, including bachata, merengue, dembow, and reggaeton. Hosted by El Martillo and La Gata, it is designed for players who enjoy energetic music while driving through the city.
Back Country Radio brings country music to the rural side of Leonida. MW and Delta Dawne host the station, which features renegade country sounds alongside commentary about the surrounding areas.
AfroBank FM explores African music, including amapiano, 3-step, classic tracks, and contemporary sounds. Burna and Palmsy serve as its hosts.
The Chamber 106.6 is the destination for metal fans. Hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom, it brings heavier music to Leonida, adding another option for players who prefer something louder during their drives.
Flash FM delivers pop music with Robyn and Alex. The station also brings back a familiar name associated with Vice City's radio identity.
Dirty South Classics focuses on Southern rap and hip-hop, with Trick and Trina hosting the station. Its regional musical identity fits the atmosphere of Leonida particularly well.
These six stations provide a strong mix of genres, although Rockstar has not yet revealed the complete radio lineup.
GTA 6 Introduces Podcasts You Can Hear Outside Vehicles
One of the more interesting changes is the introduction of on-demand podcasts.
Previous Grand Theft Auto games made radio an important part of driving, but GTA 6 expands the experience beyond vehicles. Jason and Lucia will be able to listen to radio and podcast content while walking through the world using headphones or earbuds connected to their smartphones.
This is a meaningful addition for players who enjoy exploring on foot. Instead of losing the soundtrack experience whenever they leave a vehicle, they can keep listening while moving around Leonida.
Rockstar has not revealed the full podcast lineup yet, so the actual topics and available episodes remain something to discover closer to launch.
Justice Is Composing the GTA 6 Original Score
Rockstar has also confirmed that French electronic duo Justice, consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, composed GTA 6's original score.
Unlike a traditional collection of background songs, the score is designed to adapt dynamically to different player activities and moments in Jason and Lucia's story.
The official Original Score album contains 30 tracks and is scheduled for December 11, 2026. It includes "Flower in a Hurricane," featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, as well as "Pusher," featuring Gesaffelstein.
This dynamic approach could make the soundtrack feel more connected to what happens on screen, rather than simply playing the same background music throughout an activity.
GTA 6: The Album Is Different From the Original Score
Players should also understand that Rockstar has announced a separate GTA 6 album.
GTA 6: The Album features 34 original tracks and is scheduled to launch alongside the game on November 19. Its announced artists include Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards, and several others.
The distinction is important: the 34-track album is a separate music release, while Justice's 30-track Original Score focuses on the game's adaptive background music.
Both releases contribute to the musical identity Rockstar is building for Vice City and Leonida.
Why GTA 6 Music Matters for Open-World Exploration
A good soundtrack does more than fill silence. Radio stations help establish the personality of different locations, while music can make long drives and ordinary exploration more memorable.
GTA 6's combination of genre-specific stations, podcasts, and dynamic scoring gives players more ways to experience the world. The ability to listen while walking is particularly useful because it connects music to more than just vehicle gameplay.
As launch approaches, the full radio lineup and additional music details are worth watching. Rockstar has already confirmed enough to suggest that music will remain one of GTA's defining features.
GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, and its soundtrack will be an important part of that experience. Players interested in the broader GTA Online ecosystem who plan to buy GTA 6 Boosting should remember that existing online progression services are separate from GTA 6's new single-player experience. For everyone else, the most interesting part will be discovering how Leonida sounds once the game is finally in players' hands.
